Join us for a fundraiser screening of the new film by Belly of the Beast, From Cuba to Calabria. This short documentary that follows a group of Cuban doctors who leave their families behind to serve a two-year medical mission in Calabria, Italy’s most impoverished region. From Cuba to Calabria offers rare inside access to a Cuban medical mission in Europe — revealing the human stories behind a program that has become both a lifeline for underserved communities and a flashpoint in international politics.
This event will be free but we suggest a $10 donation to National DSA's Venceremos Fund that will be used to send medical aid to Cuba. Link to donate online* - go.dsausa.org/aid. Cash donations will also be collected at the event but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
* Note when making a donation involving Cuba do not put the word "Cuba", "🇨🇺", or anything related to Cuba in the memo or description
This event is in partnership with Pittsburgh-Matanzas Sister Cities, for more information please visit https://cubasipgh.org
